Peter Thrasher has been painting for most of his life. He began his first apprenticeship at age 17 with portraitist and still life painter Danni Dawson at The Art League in Alexandria. As an 18-year-old, he was teaching figurative and portrait painting to students twice his age at The Art League. And for three years, he apprenticed with internationally renowned artist Nelson Shanks. These days, Peter welcomes his own apprentices–most of whom are accomplished or advanced painters themselves–into his Centreville studio.
